Scrubber Removes Chromic Acid from Gas Stream
An Impinjet® gas scrubber has been successfully used to remove chromic acid from the process gas stream by this manufacturer of chemicals for the plating industry.
The scrubber, part of a system engineered by SLY, LLC., handles 10,000 CFM of air ventilated from various processes. Sly also provided an evaluation of the existing ventilation system and recommended improvements in ventilation design. The new scrubber replaced two existing air pollution control units which were inadequate. The tested efficiency of the Sly Impinjet scrubber exceeded code requirements.
SLY, LLC. makes a full range of wet, dry and combination wet & dry collection systems designed to meet any air pollution code. The company offers complete system responsibility including start-up services, operator training and guaranteed results.
A system can be configured employing a variety of technologies, both wet and dry, to meet any user’s specific requirements.
Scrubber Washes Dirty Air Emitted from Chemical Plant
Fine particulate is removed from chemical process exhaust air by a Sly Impinjet® wet gas scrubber at this chemical plant.
Powders used in the production of chemical products are emitted during the venting of reactors. The scrubber “washes” the vented air to efficiently remove chemical particulate which could contaminate the ambient air outside the plant.
The Sly Impinjet® features a unique perforated plate and impingement baffle design that creates positive intimate contact with minute droplets to thoroughly scrub even the dirtiest gas stream. It uses less water than other scrubbers and requires very little fresh makeup water. Low pressure drop across the scrubber cuts power consumption.
Scrubbers are available in 740 to 250,000 CFM capacities for a wide variety of industrial applications.

Skidded Package System Makes Installation Easy
An Impinjet® wet scrubber is used at this company to clean exhaust gases from its pharmaceutical process. The Impinjet scrubber was provided as a skidded package system by its maker, SLY, LLC.
4,000 CFM of gas is handled by this wet gas scrubber. A proven impingement design creates turbulent conditions to insure intimate contact between particulates and organic vapors for thorough removal of pollutants. The equipment was delivered as a skid-mounted package to reduce on-site installation work.
